Spring is just around the corner! As mask mandates are lifting (yay!) we are here to help you update your makeup look and prepare to put your best face forward!
Here at Boston Beauty Network, we want to share our secrets on the products we are currently using and loving. We are so excited to see full faces again, as I am sure you are too! We are seeing trends shifting from gorgeous big eye makeup in 2021, to bold shiny lips and fresh glowing skin in 2022.
Here are some beauty tips and products we love to help you look and feel your best this spring!
Start with Fresh, Clean Skin
Starting your day with a clean face not only feels amazing but is important when preparing to apply makeup. Currently, we are loving products from Mario Badescu. Mia’s favorite face wash is the Mario Badescu Enzyme Gel, which is super affordable and universal for all types of skin. All of Mario Badescu’s products are packed with natural ingredients and botanicals. They have a wide range of products available for all skin types. After Katie washes her face she loves to use the Rose Floral Toner by fresh.
After washing your face we recommend applying Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. This will help with any dryness before applying makeup and moisturizer.
Lay the Foundation
Once your face is clean and prepped it is time for foundation! Fresh, tinted moisturizer is our favorite right now! It provides great coverage while giving your skin a natural glow. We recommend Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint by Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation.
Update Your Makeup Look
Now that you have a great foundation on it is important to define the skin with a great bronzer and blush. Our cheeks have been hidden behind a mask for so long so your makeup bag from 2020 will probably need some updating. Blush sticks are all the rage this spring with multi-use for lips and cheeks! We love the ease and the pop of color with a blush stick. Some of our favorites right now are the Lip and Cheek Blush Stick by Milk Makeup and The Soft Pop Blush Stick from Makeup by Mario and the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick from Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.
If you looking for a more traditional blush that still has a smooth and creamy feel we recommend Sugar Rush Beach Creeks Cream Blush by Tarte. It is easy to dab on and adds a touch of color on the go! It is perfect for the transition into spring and summer.
Shimmery Eyes
Glitter and metallics are in for eye makeup! We love a traditional eyeliner pencil to pair with it. We recommend the 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil from Urban Decay. It comes in a variety of colors so you can play around with different eye makeup. This long-lasting eyeliner is great from day to night.
Lips! Lips! Lips!
Lips are expected to be one of the biggest beauty trends in 2022. We are so excited to see lips again and everyone is ready for big, shiny lips. Lip glosses have made a comeback.
